Name: We ask for your name to identify you during a session only – it is not saved after the chat is done, and does not have to be your full or real name.
Question: Your question, and a transcript of the chat, will be kept and used for monitoring and improving our quality of service.
Computer information: The chat system automatically captures your IP address, browser, and operating system. This can help us troubleshoot if you are having technical problems with using ISU Library resources.
Question and details: Your question, whatever supporting details you send us, our reply to you, and any further emails in the conversation, will be kept and used for monitoring and improving our quality of service.
Name and status: The name and status (= your relationship to Iowa State University) you give with an email question will be saved in our system. You do not have to give your full or real name or choose a status.
Email address: We do need your email address in order to answer you! This is saved in our system in case we need to send you more information after our first response.
