Can alumni get remote access to online resources?

Answer

Alumni and Iowa residents (18 years or older) may check out books and other resources from the library by applying for a library visitor’s borrowing card. There is a one-time charge of $5 for Alumni Association members or $20 for non-members. This does not include remote access to online databases and ebooks.

Visitors, including alumni, may also access many of the library's online resources from within Parks Library by using the public computer workstations found throughout the building. Staff at the Main Desk can provide login credentials if needed. (Note: some online resources require an active Iowa State University email address for access and cannot be used by visitors, even on campus.)

If a visit to campus is not possible, please send us an email or use our Live Chat service. We may not be able to grant remote access to our databases, but we can help you figure out the best ways to get access to the information you need.
