Q. Can Iowa residents or alumni access library resources off-campus?

Answer

Yes and no as most of the library's online subscriptions are limited to current ISU affiliates (students and employees). However, anyone can walk into the ISU Library and access all of the subscription research databases and full-text- with no login or ID required. It is only off-campus access that is restricted to ISU affiliates.

More options

  1. Iowa residents have free access to a collection of Gale databases through the State Library of Iowa.
  2. Iowa residents can apply for a State Library Card through the State Library of Iowa, which allows remote access to additional electronic information resources. A link to request a State Library Card is included on the page.
  3. Iowa State University Alumni Association members have access to access to a large, multi-disciplinary EBSCO database. Members may access it by logging into the the Alumni Association website. Look for the EBSCO Library Benefit after logging in.
