Q. Can Iowa residents access library resources remotely?

Answer

Yes and no. Available options:

1. Anyone can walk into the ISU Library and access all research databases - there is no login or ID required. Off-campus access is restricted, by the database vendors, to researchers who have a current ISU ID.

2. Iowa residents have free remote access to a collection of Gale databases via: http://www.iowalibrariesonline.org/

3. Iowa residents can apply for a State Library Card through the State Library of Iowa, which allows remote access to a set of electronic resources, described here: http://www.statelibraryofiowa.org/services/resources/index A link to request a State Library Card is included on the page.
